About Us

On May 12, 1993, the doors of Magnolia Funeral Home, located at 1223 Tate Street in Corinth, were opened to serve the needs of the people of Corinth/Alcorn County and the surrounding counties with dignity and respect. Magnolia Funeral Home was locally owned and operated by Charlie Browning, Leroy Brown, Jim Calvary, James (Jim) Johnson and James Cornelius. Magnolia Funeral Home began in the former Tate Street Baptist Church building where we served the community for 11 years.

Magnolia Funeral Home purchased and remodeled the former Oakland Baptist Church building in 2004.  It has the largest seating capacity of any funeral home chapel in the surrounding area and is handicapped accessible.  We offer two nicely appointed state rooms which provides an area for video tributes to be displayed.  Our foyer area is large and spacious and our refreshment room, with full kitchen facilities, allows visitors and family a place to sit down and take a moment for refreshment.

Magnolia Funeral Home acquired a building on the cemetery grounds of Magnolia Gardens in May of 2019. Known as Magnolia Funeral Home - South, it contains a large chapel, two visitation areas, an arrangement wuite, as well as a beautifully appointed lounge and foyer area to serve our families needs .  We have created a Family Reception Center where friends and family can gather in remembrance of your loved one.

Having two locations we are able to offer our services more conveniently to Corinth and surrounding counties.  While funeral needs are becoming more personalized and distinct from one another, the constant you can expect from us is the professionalism and care in how we meet your needs.  The families served by Magnolia Funeral Home can rest assured that the same caring service offered by our founders is still, and always will be, available here.
