Woodrow Childs, 99, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Cornerstone Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Ripley, MS on November 4, 1916, to the late Grover Childs and Lula Mauney Childs. Woodrow was a retired farmer and land owner and Director of Farm Bureau Insurance Company for 40 years. He loved his family and friends and always worked hard and enjoyed the things that he was doing on the farm. He also loved coon hunting. He was of the Church of Christ faith since 1936 and a member of Kossuth Church of Christ. Family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5-9 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 and from 10 AM till service time Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Woodrow's life will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Minister Lennis Nowell officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dr. Kay, Gary Mitchell, Joe Duncan, Joe Garrett, Danny Joe Turner, Clarence Hinton. Childs (Sherra) of Corinth, Minister Rex Childs (Doris) of Dixon, KY, Minister Jerry Childs (Linda) of Corinth; his brother: Grover Childs, Jr (Lorene) of Picayune, MS; 2 half-brothers; 3 half sisters; his precious grandchildren: William Childs of Jackson, TN, Minister Hayden Childs (Lisa) of Jasper, AL, Minister Tim Childs (Betty) of Warner Robbins, GA, Tabitha Puryear (Minister Darrell) of Greenville, KY, John Mark Childs (Amanda) of Princeton, KY, Jennifer Markum (Joey) of Dyersburg, TN, Kim Pharr (Jonathan) of Saltillo, MS; 12 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
