Willie Melvin Ross

A Celebration of Life Service for Willie Melvin Ross, 90 of Corinth, MS, will be Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens.  Bro. Warren Jones and Bro. John Little will officiate the service.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mr. Ross passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his residence.  He was born August 16, 1932 in Corinth, MS to Willie Ross and Alma Byrd Ross.  He served his country in the U S Army and worked in the maintenance department at ITT for 30 years.  He was a member of Farmington Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon September 21, 2006. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and helping others.  He loved spending time with his family and grandsons.  Melvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann Wallace Ross; his daughters, Soyrietta D. Valentine and husband Mark and Freida Gardner and husband Brian; three grandchildren, Coleman Ross Gardner and wife Emily, William “Will” Valentine and John Wallace Valentine; her sister, Vera King; other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Willie S. Ross; his mother, Alma Byrd Ross; and his brother, James G. Ross.  Pallbearers will be Coleman Gardner, Will Valentine, John Valentine, Tim Baggett, Tim Bell and Don Rogers.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Willie Melvin Ross.
