Waymon Archie Wilbanks, 91, of Walnut, passed away at his home December 25, 2015. Funeral services are set for 1pm Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Community Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Rev. Jessie Cutrer and Rev. Merl Dixon will be officiating the service. Visitation will Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church and 12:00 noon until service time. Born January 1, 1924, Waymon worked many years as a roofer for Garner Roofing Company and was a member of Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Vifie Wilbanks of Walnut, son, Kenneth Wilbanks (Sarah) of Olive Branch, two daughters, Mary Jane Bumpas (Danny) of Walnut, MS and Stephanie Wilbanks of Walnut, four grandchildren, Kenneth Wilbanks Jr. (Lynn) of Madison, MS; Christy Schreffler of Olive Branch, Courtney Gilbreath (Trent) of Olive Branch, LaCosta Morphis of Walnut, 8 great-grandchildren, Jamison Wilbanks, Peyton Wilbanks, Collin Schreffler, Sarah Grace Schreffler, Matt Schreffler, Daeven Gilbreath, Breanna Nelson, and Jordan Nelson, special niece and nephew, Nathan and Nettie Wilbanks, other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Nelson, Kenneth Wilbanks Jr., Jamison Wilbanks, Tim Dixon, Gerald Cissom, Audie Russell. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Will Schreffler and Mason Wilbanks, four brothers, Captain “Cap” Wilbanks, K.C. Wilbanks, William Wilbanks, Aaron Wilbanks, five sisters, Anna Green, Ella Porterfield, Ethel Green, Lucy Dee Wilbanks, Maggie Thornton, his father, Agna Wilbanks and his mother, Sarah Willingham Wilbanks.
