Virginia Mae Childers Burks, 85, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on September 15, 1932 to the late Dewey and Osa Griffin. Virginia will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 5 - 8 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 and from 10 am until service time, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home in Corinth. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor James Fitts. Interment will follow in Corinth National Cemetery. Pallbearers include; Dallas Smith, Shane Childers, Ethan Smith, Buddy Robinson, Buddy Ellis and Timmy Ellis. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Virginia’s memory include her daughter: Linda Mills and husband Gregory of Corinth, MS; her grandchildren: Dallas Smith, Shane Childers and wife Mary, and Chasity Gann; her great grandchildren: Ethan Smith, Emma Grace Childers, Breanna Childers, Landon Childers, Tristan Childers, and Sophie Childers; her brothers: Nelson Griffin of Nashville, TN and James Griffin of California; her sister: Clara Ellis of Corinth, MS; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: L.Q. Childers; her second husband: E. G. Burks; her sons: Donald Wayne Childers and Lannie Melvin Childers; her sister: Kathleen Johnson; and by her granddaughter: Jessica Dion Childers.
