Funeral services for Virginia "Jenny" Canaday Dyer, 98, of Corinth, MS are set for Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 2 pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- East with interment in Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 11 am until service time. Dr. Randy Bostick will officiate the service. Pallbearers include Michael Dyer, Johnny Todd Dyer, Billy Harland, Anthony Knight, Jim Ranson, Scott Powers, and Jordan Woodruff. Virginia passed from this life on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at their home at Dogwood Assisted Living in Corinth, MS. Virginia was born May 15, 1926, in Union City, TN to the late Robert Raymond Canaday and Loxie Craig Canaday. Virginia “Ms. Jenny” as she was affectionately known, and her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her; a beautiful soul whose kindness knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. She was not shy about her love for her family but never missed an opportunity to share her faith in the Lord. She wanted others to know the peace and assurance she lived out day by day. On August 16, 1958, she married the love of her life John H. Dyer. Their life together was built on a foundation of faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They shared a love for music, serving in church and serving others. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She was very active in community organizations throughout their life. Virginia loved taking care of her family as well as others. She was a talented seamstress and cook. A highlight of their life together was camping and square dancing. Virginia leaves behind a loving family including her husband of 66 years; John Dyer, children Debbie McElroy (David-deceased); John R. Dyer (Patricia); Dawn Patrick (Steve), former daughter-in- law Mel Goad (Chris). Grandchildren Stephanie Copeland; Lauren Campbell; Michael Dyer; Isabel Goad. Great grandchildren Kyle Dwyer; Kayla Dwyer; Jordan Copeland; Tyler Copeland; Gage Fraley; Peyton Gwaltney; Carter May Dyer. Seven Great great, grandchildren. Two nieces, one nephew, and one sister-in-law, Sue Martin. A host of family and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Thomas Canaday. In addition to special aunts, uncles and cousins. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Vital Caring Hospice, specifically their nurses Micaela Winchell and Misty Luker. alone with the staff of Dogwood Assisted Living for their compassionate care.
