Virdie Lee English, 83, of Guys, TN, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer, TN. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on April 17, 1932 to the late Fred and Elzadie Crum Arnold and graduated from Kossuth High School. She owned several businesses in the area including Charlie's Truck Stop, Jettie's Restaurant, and The Red Barn. Virdie Lee was of the Baptist faith. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 PM Monday, October 26, 2015 and from 12 Noon till service time, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Virdie Lee's life will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, officiated by Bro. Jeremy Arnold. Interment will follow at Henry Cemetery. Pallbearers include Billy Glidewell, Daniel Glidewell, Roger Arnold, David Peacher, Greg Peacher, Bruce Tidwell, Olen Arnold and Hoyte Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers include Hatchie Bottom Boys and wives. Magnolia Funeral Home is caring for the family. Those left to honor Virdie Lee's memory include her husband of 59 years: Arlas English of Guys, TN; her daughter: Rejaneia Morris and husband Bill of Guys, TN; her grandchildren: Brandon Forsyth, Nathan Morris and wife Hannah, and Dana Potts and husband Ben; her great-grandchildren: Ruby Kate Morris and Willow Potts; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: Mitchell Arnold and Inell Arnold and by her sisters: Bernice Peacher and Vada Glidewell.
