Velma Parker, 93, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on April 22, 1924 to the late Eber and Leta Mae Utley Kiddy. Velma loved quilting, sewing, working with her roses and flower beds and especially cooking for and spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she loved. Visitation is scheduled from 5-9 pm Sunday, April 15, 2018 and from 11 am till service time Monday, April 16, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Velma's life will be held at 2 pm Monday, April 16, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. Bill Wages and Bro. Alan Parker. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Velma's memory include her sons: Butch Parker and wife Linda, Brodie Parker and wife Renita, and Sammy Parker all of Corinth; her daughters: Becky Marlar and Rose Scott both of Corinth; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law: Don Roach of Corinth; her daughter-in-law: Patty Parker of Corinth; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years: Edd Parker; her son: Tommy Parker; her daughters: Linda Roach and Bonnie Parker; her sons-in-law: John Scott and Jerry Marlar; her granddaughter: Bridget Marlar; her great-granddaughters: Shiloh Parker and Iva Osborn; her brother: James Kiddy; and her sister: Marie Blasingame.
