Troy L. Wilson Jr., 86, of Corinth, MS, passed away at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was born on March 19, 1935 to the late Troy and Beatrice Wilson and graduated from Kossuth High School. He retired with the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier and was a longtime member of Oakland Baptist Church where he had served as deacon. Fishing was a passion of his but his greatest love was spending time with his family. Visitation is scheduled from 12-2 pm Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home East with a Celebration of Troy’s life at 2 pm officiated by Dr. Randy Bostick and Bro. Larry Lancaster. J.J. & Sherry Jobe will offer the eulogy. Pallbearers include Kirk Freeman, Ricky Norman, Wesley Wilson, Ryan Jobe, David Curry, and Billy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers include Devyn Cook, Wiley Harland, Truman Stockdale, Danny Meeks, Lawrence Barr, and John Dyer. Interment will be in Dogwood Cemetery. Those left to honor Troy’s memory include his wife of 66 years, Shirley Wilson of Corinth; sons, Donald Wilson (Lisa) of Walnut, MS and Danny Wilson (Georgia) of Riverside, CA; his daughter-in-law, Sherry Jobe (J.J.) of Corinth; grandchildren, Kristy Freeman (Kirk), Kasey Norman (Ricky), Wesley Wilson (Hannah), Jennifer Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Connor Wilson, Cameron Wilson, Ryan Jobe, and Misty Jobe; great grandchildren, Alicia Santiago, Justice Norman, Sydnee Norman, Ella Wilson, Brayden Wilson, Eli Freeman, Xander Freeman, and Logan Freeman; brothers, Mike Wilson (Stephanie) of Tupelo, MS and Max Wilson (Becky) of Murfreesboro, TN; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his son, David Wilson; his parents, Troy and Beatrice Wilson and his brother, Glenn Wilson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
