Thomas Charles Kennedy

A private family service will be held for Thomas Charles Kennedy, 85, at Tate Baptist Church, Friday, March 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM with burial at Magnolia Gardens. Due to the pandemic and out of concern for family and friends, you may attend the funeral service by remaining in your vehicle at Tate Baptist Church parking lot and tuning your radio to 98.7 at the time of service. Tom was born to Harbert and Audrey Kennedy on October 31, 1934 in Prentiss County. He attended New Site School and graduated at Rienzi School. Tom was a devoted loving husband and father. He was a long-time employee and retiree of GE in Chicago, IL and retired a second time from World Color in Corinth, MS. Tom was a devoted Christian and served as a sunday school teacher, sunday school superintendent and deacon at Kendrick Baptist Church. He is now a member of Tate Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, eating good food, fishing and enjoying all of God’s creation. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Graple Jean Kennedy of Corinth, MS; daughter, Sherri Shadburn (Randy) of Corinth, MS; 2 grandchildren, Russ Shadburn (Brooke) of Corinth, MS and Anna Dozier (Ben) of Brentwood, TN; 3 great-grandchildren, Mason, Eli and Rhett Shadburn; brothers, Herbert Kennedy (Carmin) of Corinth, MS, Butch Kennedy (Doris) of Booneville, MS, Randall Kennedy of Corinth, MS and Jerry Kennedy of FL; his sister, Betty McCollum (Herschel) of Corinth, MS; special brother-in-law, Clovis Wilbanks (Maria) of Minooka, IL; special friends, Aaron Parsons and Pam Wren; loving friends and family at Tate Baptist Church; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Harbert Kennedy; mother, Audrey Ridge Kennedy; brothers, Mike Kennedy, Timmy Kennedy and Vester Kennedy and sisters, Cordela (Tootsie) Taylor and Wanda Kennedy. Bro Mickey Trammel and Bro. Eddie Martin will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Tate Baptist Church.
