Thelma Jean Langston

Thelma Jean Langston, age 82, of Rienzi, MS, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center- Iuka. Born on March 28, 1939, in Alcorn County, MS, she was the daughter of Major and Avis Burcham. Thelma worked in many factories throughout the years, however, her most treasured occupation was homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Rienzi Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with her family. In their golden years, Thelma and her husband, Ray, enjoyed their duties as Park Hosts at Piney Grove Campground. Thelma is survived by her son, Greg, and wife Robin, of New Albany; 6 grandchildren: Amy Langston; Justin Wilburn and wife Lauren; Whitney Nall and husband Ben; Brittany Pate; Lauren Adair and husband Ryan; and Cole Martin and wife Marianna; 5 great-grandchildren: Alissa Wilburn, Destiny Wilburn, Charlie Ann Pate, James Martin, Cannon Nall, and Hensley Kate Treece; sister: Esther Switcher; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ray Langston; daughter: Rhonda Martin; son: Donnie Langston; grandson: Josh Langston. The family will receive friends in visitation from 12pm to 3pm on March 28, 2022 at Kemp’s Chapel. Funeral Services will be held following visitation at 3pm on March 28, 2022 at Kemp’s Chapel with Bro. Charlie Cooper officiating the service. Pallbearers include Justin Wilburn, Cole Martin, Ryan Adair, Ben Nall, Larry Palmer, and Gary Nash. Josh Langston will serve as honorary pallbearer. There will be no interment services. Magnolia Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Tishomingo Community Living Center, North Mississippi Medical Center- Iuka, and Kindred Hospice.
