Terry Leon McCalister, 70, of Glen, MS, passed away at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born in Corinth, MS on April 22, 1949 to the late Jim Ed and Clara McCalister and graduated from Alcorn Central High School in 1967. Leon was a member of Brigman Hill Baptist Church and was self-employed as a truck driver for Leon McCalister Trucking for nearly 36 years. He enjoyed, drag racing, going to car shows in the Smokey Mountains but especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Leon will forever be remembered in the hearts of those he loved. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 5-8 pm and Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 10 am till service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Leon’s life will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. James Voyles and Bro. Alan Parker. Pallbearers include Chris Haley, Terry McCalister, William Page, Trevor Fowler, Bobby George, Roy Strickland and Chester Newcomb. Interment will follow in Brigman Hill Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Leon’s memory include his wife of 36 years: Joyce Ann McCalister of Glen; his son: Terry Lane McCalister of Corinth; his daughters: Tammy Owens Klueger (Kevin) of Huntsville, AL and Georgiana Owens of Glen; nine grandchildren: Trevor Fowler, Lindsey Fowler, Kylie Klueger, Konnor Klueger, William Page, Emily Baswell, Alaina McCalister, Mallory McCalister and Riley Rickman; three great-grandchildren: Alyina Page, Hartleigh Page and Madilyn Fowler; his sisters: Hilda Haley and Betty Sue Rogers; his brothers Jimmy McCalister and Eddie McCalister; other relatives and a host of friends.
