Sue Smith, 87, of Tishomingo, MS passed away at Baptist Hospital in Columbus, MS on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born in Corinth, MS on October 26, 1934 to the late Leonard and Audie Beckham Cornelius and was a member of Snowdown Church of Christ. Sue worked at several local businesses including ITT and Wurlitzer in her earlier years. She also worked as a cook at Farmington School and retired as a cook from Whitfield Nursing Home. Sue was very artistic and loved painting and will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she loved. Magnolia Funeral Home – 72 East is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 and 10 am till service time Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – 72 East. A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 11 am Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel officiated by Minister Dewey Smith and Minister G.W. Childs. Pallbearers include Ethan Rorie, Stone Rorie, Branson Rorie, Drake Rorie, Devin Smith and Roger Davis. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those left to honor Sue’s memory include her son, Perry Smith and wife Debbie; her daughter, Brenda Ross (Roger Davis); her grandchildren, Terry Smith (Amanda), Brandon Rorie (Amy), Shanna Wigginton (Curtis), Stephanie McHaffey, and Jacob Smith (Amber); her great grandchildren, Ethan Rorie (Sara), Stone Rorie (Weedoie), Branson Rorie, Drake Rorie, and Devin Smith; her great great grandchildren, Hadley Rorie and Brayden Rorie; her sisters, Martha Willett (Terry) and Judy Byrd (Mike); her brothers, Randy Cornelius and Steve Cornelius (JoAnn); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband Varnell “Kinky” Smith; her brothers, Dexter Cornelius and Perry Cornelius; and her sisters, Glenda Isbell and Betty Cornelius.
