Shirley Fay Mitchell

A graveside service for Shirley Fay Mitchell, 82 of Corinth, MS, will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Henry Cemetery with interment to follow at Henry Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Joshlin will officiate the service with Tate Mitchell delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home-East. Mrs. Mitchell passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born December 17, 1937 in Alcorn County, MS to Marcus Chase and Mary Byce Chase. She was a machine operator at Magnolia Hosiery Mill and was a member of Rock Hill First Pentecostal Church. She loved cooking, sewing and working in her flower garden. She was a caretaker for everyone. Shirley is survived by her son, Bruce Keith Mitchell of Corinth, MS; 2 grandchildren, Brandy and Lee Switcher and Beverly Mitchell; great grandchildren, Tate Michell and Montana Powers; her sister, Lois Miller of Corinth, MS; sisters-in-law, Paulene Mills of Corinth, MS and Carolyn Chase of Booneville, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Billy Bruce Mitchell; her father, Marcus Chase; her mother Mary Byce Chase; her brothers, Buford Chase and Shelby Chase; her sisters, Hazel Gray (J.D.), Eunice Lentz, Gladys McGaughy, Verlon Felks, Buna Stacy, Vula Mae Chase and Helen Chase.
