Shirley Clayton, 83, of Corinth, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at her home in the Strickland Community, surrounded by her loving family. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Bro. Jack Bennett will officiate the service and burial will follow at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 7, 2018, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM; and on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home. Shirley is survived by her Husband of 63 years, W.L. Clayton; Daughters: Theresa Smith of Trenton, FL and Joanie Clayton of Corinth; Sons: Jerry Clayton of Adamsville, TN, Tracy Clayton and Wife Nicole of Corinth, and Rick Clayton and Wife Angelia of Corinth; Seven Grandchildren: Amy Langston, Jake Clayton, Jennifer Ford and Husband Andrew, Brody Clayton, Rhett Clayton, Elle Clayton, Harley Avery and Husband Dylan; Three Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Agnes Shadburn, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her Grandson, Josh Langston; Parents: Sidney Hughes and Cora Grimsley Hughes; Brothers: Raymond Hughes and R. B. Hughes; and Sisters: Gladys Burcham and Jane Mask. Shirley was born on May 9, 1935, in Thrasher, MS. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She worked many years at ITT and was a wonderful homemaker for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the Family of Mrs. Shirley Clayton.
