Sheryl Ann McKelvey

A celebration of life service for Sherrie McKelvey, 62, of Lewisburg, KY is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East with interment to follow in Dogwood Cemetery. Dr. Leonard Pratt will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. She was born October 8, 1961 in Hobart, Indiana to Melvin Edward and Jo Ann Curran Evetts and passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home in Lewisburg, KY. Sherrie was of the Christian faith and a homemaker. Sherrie was all about family and making sure they were ok. She started at a young age as a nurse's assistant at a nursing home, in Portage, IN. From there it blossomed into her being the caregiver of the family, when someone needed assistance from a procedure, surgery, or just feeling under the weather. There was never a time that if you needed her, she was not there via telephone or moved heaven and earth to get to you. She planted that seed deep into the family to make sure you take care of your own, no one else should do that job. 

                Those left to honor her memory includes her son, Jason Edward McKelvey; her high school love and fiancée, Jim McGhee; grandchild, Dominick Norris Singleton (Brea); brother, Kimbo Evetts; best friend, Shirley Leatherwood; furry grandkids, Buddy and Sylvie; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

                She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Thomas L. McKelvey; daughter, Denise Jo Ann Evetts Singleton; parents, Melvin and Jo Ann Curran Evetts; and brother, Darrell Edward Evetts. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Sherrie McKelvey
