Shelia Kathy Dixon (“Kathy”), 68, passed away quietly in her home on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 after a long battle against cancer.
Kathy was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on January 10th, 1952, to Russell and Euzena Hamm (née Patterson).
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, J.C. Dixon, her two children, Patience Rorie and Joe Dixon, and daughter-in-law, Kacy Dixon. She was blessed with four grandchildren Joe, Maura, Neely, and Kelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Keith Hamm.
Kathy made Mississippi her home in the early 1970’s and was blessed with the friendship and fellowship of so many here, especially the members of her church family.
Through her fight with cancer she remained firmly grounded in her faith. As she would sing at church, “The Anchor Holds”.
The family will have a private graveside service officiated by Bro. Merl Dixon, Bro. Ronald Wilbanks, and Bro. Cody Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the West Cancer Center & Research Institute or used to show gratitude to their exemplary and caring staff.
