Sarah Joyce Henderson passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Cornerstone Health & Rehab in Corinth, MS at the age of 70. She was born September 10, 1939 and was a member of The Christian Faith
Sarah loved working and being around people. Until she became disabled, she was a customer service representative for Belk’s. Upon retirement and the death of her husband, Sarah enjoyed spending time on Thursday nights at Pickin on the Square. However she could always be found at the Dig Store on Shiloh Road on Monday mornings. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Sarah would spend each Tuesday at Sharing Hearts, a local respite program for participants who suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer’s. This was a second family with whom she shared a special bond.
Sarah loved animals. She loved to feed the birds and to sit and watch them as they flocked to the feeders. Her cats and dogs were like her children. They always had the best of everything.
Above all of this Sarah loved her great grandkids, Conner boy, as she would call him and Kayla. They brought a joy to her heart and a smile to her face that no one else could match. In November, that smile will only grow larger with the birth of her newest great grandchild, Natalyn.
Before her health declined, she would travel to Texas to visit her sister and spend time with her niece and nephews, who were a very important part of her life. Family meant so much to her and it showed in the closeness she shared not only with her immediate family but also her first cousin, sister-in-law and brother-in-laws.
Sarah struggled for so long, but we know that she is at peace now with our Lord Jesus Christ.
