Sandra Lynn Tyson

Sandra Lynn Tyson, 71 of Florence, AL, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, at her residence. A family graveside service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Kara Blackard will officiate the service. Mrs. Tyson was born March 12, 1949, in Florence, AL to Walter Benjamin and Garnett Russell Benjamin. She was a retired hairdresser and was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. She loved cross-stitching, cooking, singing and playing with her grandchildren. Sandra is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donas Tyson of Florence, AL; her son, Rodney Tyson and wife Lorena of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Nicholas Tyson (Haley), Anna Tyson, Ashton Tyson, Adelynn Tyson and Israel Tyson; one great-grandson, Benjamin Tyson; her brother, Dexter Benjamin (JoAnn) of Corinth, MS; her sister, Mae August of Sheffield, AL; her sister-in-law, Shirley Lewis (Mike) of Corinth, MS; her brother-in-law, David Tyson (Rita) of Pontotoc, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Benjamin; her mother, Garnett Russell Benjamin; her brothers, Clarence Benjamin and Milton Benjamin and her sister-in-law, Annette Young. Pallbearers will be Eddie August, Alan August and Stevie Benjamin. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Sandra Lynn Tyson.
