Ray Lee Miller passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at his home in Rienzi at the age of 97. He was born March 8, 1913 to the late Luther & Elizia Miller in Alcorinth County. He Graduated in 1935 from Alcorn Agricultural High School in Kossuth and received his Masters Degree from Mississippi State. He was principal at Crum School for 2 years, Union School for 13 years, Bell School for 9 years and Glendale Elementary School for 6 years all in Alcorn County and Chalybeate Elementary school in Tippah County. He was a Mason and belonged to Corinth Lodge # 116. He won Alcorn County Elementary School Basketball Tournament with both boys and girls teams at Bell Elementary School. Bell Elementary School Boys Team was the undefeated County Championship Team in 1953 and He was a member of Union Baptist Church He is Survived by hisSon: Michael D. “Hoss” Miller and wife Melissa – Rienzi, Ms 3 Grandchildren –Amy Griggs and husband Brandon - Savannah, Tn, Richard Palmer – Rienzi, Ms, Amber Palmer – Rienzi, Ms 2 Great Grandchildren: Eric Michael Palmer - Rienzi, Ms and Brooklyn Callie Griggs - Savannah, Tn Sister –In – Law: Gladys McCord –Rienzi, Ms Special Niece: Jean Carroll – Corinth, Ms Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and a host of friends He is welcomed to Heaven by his Wife of 60 years: Martha Vernal Taylor Miller Father: Luther Zeb Miller Mother: Elizia Jane Bass Miller Brother: Victor “Bud” Miller Sister: Lola Miller Rencher Father – In – law: H.C. Taylor Mother – In - Law: Martha Elizabeth Maricle Brothers – In- Law: Clifton Taylor, Earl Taylor, Henry McCord, Dalton Rencher, Clyde Tucker, Elmer Green, Tom Green, and Chester Seago Sisters–In–law:Ruby Elliott, Gladys Taylor, Evelyn Taylor, Mae Tucker, Nellie Green, Laura Green, and Edith Seago Pallbearers will be Jerry Leonard, G. W. Childs, Billy Curtis, Bobby Lothenore, Junior Mitchell and Ray Newcomb Honorary Pallbearers will be Men’s Adult Sunday School Class at Union Baptist Church
