Roger Dale Heavener

A Celebration of Life service for Roger Dale Heavener, 72 of Glen, MS, will be Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Bro. Bill Wages and Bro. James Voyles will officiate the service. Visitation will Be Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 11:00 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Heavener passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his residence in Glen, MS. He was born August 29, 1946 in Baldwyn, Ms to Earnest Roy Heavner and Annie Pearl Sailors Heavner. He was a sheet metal mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith. He loved gardening, baking bread and cooking. He was a shop-a-holic, who enjoyed working and tinkering with everything. Roger especially loved making ice cream and having family parties. Roger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Jean Heavener of Glen, MS; his brother, Charles Wayne Heavener and wife Surobia of Corinth, MS; his sister, Elizabeth Cooper of Bethel Springs, TN; his sister-in-law, Carol Lee Heavner of Glen, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends and we loved them all. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest "Ernie" D. Heavener; his father, Earnest Roy Heavner; his mother, Annie Pearl Sailors Heavner; his brother, Ernest E. Heavner; his sisters, Noverta Downer and Roberta Moody and his brother-in-law: James Cooper. Pallbearers will be Tom Downer, Phillip Cooper, Todd Heavener, Allen Moody, Michael Trotter, David McClain and Keith McIntyre. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Roger Dale Heavener.
