Robert Eugene Elder

Robert Eugene “Bobby Gene” Elder, 78, of Corinth, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at MS Care Center. Mr. Elder was born February 27, 1939 to the late William “Bud” Elder and Minnie Lois Sims Elder in Rienzi, MS. During his life he worked in the steel industry and also was a merchant marine. He was a part of the Church of the Nazerene. A celebration of his Bobby Gene’s life is set for 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment in Hinkle Cemetery. Friends and family will gather for a time of visitation beginning at 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Charlie Browning will officiate the service. Those left to honor Mr. Elder’s memory include his brother, Henry B. Elder (Conella) of Michie, TN; aunt, Dean Sims of Michie, TN; sister-in-law, Marilyn McKinney (Larry) of Booneville, MS; and caregiver, Linda Murphy of Corinth, MS; along with numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Those who preceded him in death include his wife, Betty Elder; sister, Joyce Ann Elder Chambers; brothers, Kenneth Elder and William Thomas Elder; and his father and mother.
