Rita Jowers

Vinnie “Rita” Jowers, 84, of Corinth, MS passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 in Corinth, MS. A private family service is scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – South Chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens. Bro. Ron Norvall will officiate the service. A public visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – South. Rita was born February 14, 1936 in Corinth, MS to the late Lester and Esther Kennedy Sellers. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and worked 25 years as a line operator at ITT before retiring. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower garden, shopping, and traveling. Rita will always be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter: Deanna Worley and husband Ray of Corinth, MS; 4 grandchildren: Channing Palmer, Mariah Worley, Kristina Moffett and husband John, and Lindsey Morphis and husband Trey; 9 great-grandchildren: Jaylynn Palmer, Millie Beth Palmer, Atlas Roberts, Arden Moffett, Kyler Moffett, Kendall Morphis, Keaton Morphis, Ella Morphis, and Oaklea Ragan; brothers: Johnny Sellers and wife Ruth of Glen, MS, Lonnie Sellers and wife Judy of Idaho, and James Sellers of Corinth, MS; sister: Mary Ann Rorie and husband Doyle of Burnsville, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Leon Jowers; son: Randy Jowers; brothers: Gene Sellers, Ed Sellers, Charles Ray Sellers, and Robert Lee Sellers; and sister: Nelda Cook. Pallbearers include Christopher Jourdan, Kyle Roberts, Cody Palmer, Jerry Seller, James Lowell Barnes, and Eric Rorie.
