Richard Wayne Briggs, 75, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Alcorn County on October 22, 1939 to the late Shirley and Annie Kemp Briggs and was a 1958 graduate of Corinth High School. Wayne was president of Briggs, Inc. Throughout his life he enjoyed being around people, playing golf, bowling and traveling. He also was past president of the Lions Club. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 PM Monday, August 24, 2015 and from Noon until service time Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, officiated by Bro. Tony Curtis. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Brian Langley, Steve Little, Hal Southward, Donnie Shadburn, Steven Holley and John Tomlinson. Those left to honor Wayne's memory include his sons: Rick Briggs and wife Teri of Corinth, MS and Tracy Briggs and wife Candy of Corinth, MS; two daughters: Pam Scott and husband Jerry of Corinth, MS and Becky Jones of Madison, MS; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother: Larry Briggs and wife Ruth Ann of Corinth, MS; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years: Jeanette Lewis Briggs and a daughter: Debbie Wilbanks.
