Rev. Malcolm Garrett

A Celebration of Life Service for Rev. Malcolm LeRoy Garrett, 87 of Saltillo, MS, will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 2:00 P M at Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Glen Jones, Rev. Steve Nichols and Rev. Larry Ball will officiate the service.   Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home - East and Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 1:00 p m until service time at Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church.  Mr. Garrett passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.  He was born April 27, 1936 in Corinth, MS to Marvin Garrett and Mittie Lee McClintock Garrett Barnes.  He was a minister and a member of Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church.  He enjoyed cross word puzzles, going out to eat and watching football and basketball games.  He loved his ministry, Bible study and spending time with his family and friends.  Rev. Garrett  is survived by his sons, Mark Garrett, Johnny Johnson, Barry Johnson (Sue) and Brooks Johnson; his daughter, Michelle Sagely (Tony); 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren;   his brother, Richard Barnes; his sisters, Nellie Spence, Carolyn Helton; step sister, Shirley Mask (Buddy); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Garrett; 1 grandchild; his father, Bro. Marvin Garrett and his mother Mittie Lee Garrett Barnes.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Rev. Malcolm LeRoy Garrett.
