Rebon Gurtis Wilbanks, 89, passed away at Magnolia Regional Health Center on March 12, 2017 after an extended illness. Rebon was born to Hill and Maggie Wilbanks on September 22, 1927. He was one of ten children. Rebon was preceded in death by nine siblings. Five Wilbanks brothers Fillmore, Raymond, Reaford, Roy and Archie. Four sisters Anita Weaver, Flossie Skinner, Inez Mills and Irene Harmon. Rebon was married to Sally Ann Dodds Wilbanks for 32 years. Rebon is survived by one daughter, Shelly Denise Cantrell and husband Mike Cantrell of Corinth; two granddaughters, Lydia Denise Cantrell and Michelle Cantrell Howell and husband Trey Howell who gave Rebon four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Christine, Kloe and Trey. With the recent addition of four foster granddaughters, Barbara, Holly, Christal and Nikki, Rebon was given tremendous joy and pleasure in his last few weeks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rebon will join the love of his life, Sally Ann Dodds Wilbanks, in heaven. Rebon was known as a sweet and gentle man. He was loving and loved by all who knew him and may he rest in eternal peace. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A private graveside committal service is being scheduled for the family.
