Funeral services for Rathelene McDuffy Thrasher, 90, of Corinth are set for Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 6:30pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- East with interment in Pleasant Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 3:30pm-6:30pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Thrasher, Jesse Thrasher, Chris Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Derrick Thrasher, Cody Thrasher, Jared McClain, Brandon Cole, Huck Thrasher, Breck Thrasher, Blaine Mitchell, Payden Mitchell, Braden Mitchell, Kameron Thrasher, Riley Jones, Jordan Jones, Brayden Jones, Spencer Jones, Christopher McClain, Logan McClain, Bransen Bowden and Kayce Stafford. Rathelene passed away November 23, 2024 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born July 21, 1934 to the late Elmer and Liller McDuffy in Doskie, MS. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Rathelene graduated from Burnsville High School, then she attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. After graduation she became a school teacher before getting married and starting her family. Some of the things she enjoyed was cooking, traveling and visiting with her friends, usually for a potluck and a game of checkers, cards or chicken foot. She always enjoyed talking on the phone, telling stories, watercolor painting, going fishing and her animals. Her biggest joy was her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great  grandchildren. Rathelene has a knack for telling stories and she never met a stranger. If you were ever blessed to have met her you would have heard one of her stories and had a really good laugh. She has a kind and caring heart, she was always thinking of others and putting their need before her own. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Talesha Mitchell of Biggersville and Shalania Isbell of Corinth; sons, Larry Thrasher (Beverly) of Corinth and Mike Thrasher (Maria) of Iuka; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Thrasher (Haley), Jesse Thrasher (Ashley), Derrick Thrasher (Emily), Cody Thrasher (Krystal), Mia Sweat (Thomas), Chris Mitchell (Briony), Brandon Mitchell (Tiffany), Chad Mitchell (Allyson), Jared McClain (Kaitlyn) and Bentley McClain ; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great  great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leon Thrasher; son, Anthony Thrasher; grandson, Brennan Thrasher; parents, Liller and Elmer McDuffy; baby brother, Talmadge McDuffy; and her sons-in-law, Keith Mitchell and Ron Isbell. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Jagtap, Dr. Pratt, Lydia Mitchell and the entire staff of Magnolia Home Health and Hospice.
