Ralph "Burr" Skinner

Ralph “Burr” Skinner, 74, of Burnsville, MS, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Tennessee on April 8, 1943 to the late Talmadge and Blanche Jones Skinner and graduated from Burnsville High School in 1963. Ralph served in the Army National Guard and was a logger for many years. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Harmony Hill Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Mark Jones. A eulogy will be offered by Vernon Wooten and James Lowell Skinner. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Ralph's memory include wife of 47 years: Gail Wooten Skinner of Glen, MS; his son: Chip Skinner of Glen, MS; his daughter: Sweda Hope Skinner Herman and husband Johnny of Glen, MS; his grandchildren: Paige Osborn (Colton Woodruff), Gracie Katherine Osborn, Landon Osborn, Michael Andrew Martin; his brother: James Lowell Skinner of Glen, MS; his sisters: Betty Ferguson of Millington, TN, Doris Biggs of Taylor, MI and Linda Windsor of Southaven, MS; his sister-in-law: Nancy Skinner of Jackson, TN; his brother-in-law: Vernon and Martha Wooten of Corinth, MS; special extended family: Michael and Brittany Osborn, Bailey and Owen of Iuka, MS; his special caregivers and friends: Chuck Kennedy and Bobbi Kennedy; his nieces and nephews: Phillip, Priscilla, Patricia, Marty, Millie, Amy, Rita, Rhonda, John Oliver, Allison, Jonathan, Chris Wooten and Dr. Darwin Wooten; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Talmadge “Cabbage” Skinner and Blanche “Doc” Jones Skinner; his brothers: Harold Skinner and Robert Skinner; his mother-in-law: Mattie Bell Wooten Floyd; his brothers-in-law: Jerry Ferguson, Bill Biggs, and Cuddy Sweat; his nephew: Roger Dale Skinner; and his niece: Kristi Sweat. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Hill Baptist Church in memory of Ralph Skinner. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
