Mrs.Wilson went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2019. She was born to RC & Effie Wroten Wheeler on June 3, 1941, Ouida has been a resident of Corinth since her family moved from Arkansas when she was in 3rd grade.
Ouida attended Farmington High School in Farmington, MS, where she graduated in 1959. It was during her years at Farmington that she met the love of her life, Allen Wilson. As she would often tell the story, it wasn’t love at first sight, but after Allen talked her into going on one date, the rest is history. They married on August 28, 1959, and their lives were a real-life love story for all who knew them.
Ouida devoted her life to her family and loved ones. She ran her family with an iron fist, but she loved with her whole heart. Anyone who knew her knew without a doubt that she would be willing to fight a bear to protect anyone she loved. Her family has always jokingly referred to her as Dr. Ouida because she “doctored” on everyone and usually knew just the right remedy to make them feel better.
Ouida is survived by one son, Steve Wilson and his wife Kelly; one daughter, Jil Wilson Yager; a son-in-love Keith Harville; two granddaughters: Ellice Yager and Nicki Thompson (Brad); one grandson, Daniel Luke Davis (Agenda); one great-granddaughter, McKinley Thompson; three great-grandsons: Myles Thompson, Chandler Davis, and Bentley Davis; a sister-in-law, Sue Gray (Malcolm); three lifelong best friends: Peggy Osborn, Ella Mae Newcomb, and Darlene Knight; and her furry daughter, Mattie.
Ouida is now reunited in Heaven with her loved ones who passed before her, including her husband of 48 years, Allen Wilson; her parents, RC Wheeler and Effie Wroten Wheeler; mother-in-law Flossie Wilson; father-in-law Woodrow Wilson; and son-in-law Elliston Yager.
Pallbearers will include Chris Harville, Bob Rainey, Briar Rainey, Mike Melson, Keith Harville, & Phil Wolfe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Davis and Myles “Dodi” Thompson.
