Ouida Burns Marlar

A Celebration of Life Service for Ouida Burns Marlar, 75 of Biggersville, MS, will be Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – South with an interment for family at Magnolia Gardens.  Bro. Tracy Quillian, Pastor of Lone Oak Baptist Church will officiate the service.  Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2022 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – South.  Mrs. Marlar passed away on July 7^th at her residence.  She was born December 4, 1946 in Corinth, MS to Vera Burns Lang and William Edward Burns.  She was a retired school teacher from Biggersville High School and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. On February 11^th 1967 Ouida married Leroy Marlar, who survives her after 55 years of marriage.  They had two children, Tabitha Lauderdale (Richard) of Hernando, MS and Brett Marlar (Amy) of Corinth, MS.  She was blessed with four grandchildren; Clea and Clair Lauderdale and Tanner and Anabelle Marlar.  Ouida is also survived by her sister, Neta Huggins (Martin).  Ouida was the “beloved” aunt of Holly Westlund, Martin Huggins, Jr. and Haley Flora all of Atlanta, GA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vera Burns.  Pallbearers will be, Trevor Williams, Scott Nash, Tim Mitchell, Tanner Marlar, Martin Huggins, Jr. and Steve Glidewell.  In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to the ALS Foundation.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Ouida Burns Marlar.
