Nelwyn (Nell) Michael Carnal, lovingly known as “Mama Nell” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully in her home in Corinth, Mississippi on March 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Born to Vera and Millard Lee Michael, Nell was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Carnal, and her parents.Nell is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wood (Alan); her grandchildren, Dani Fuller (Will) and Heath Wood (Aubrey); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Luke Fuller, Levi Fuller, Samuel Wood, and Henry Hughes. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—attending her grandchildren’s ballgames and working concessions, cooking for her family, playing the piano, and sharing a morning coffee with her dear friend, Dorthy Wood. She created family traditions. A couple of her favorites were shopping with "the girls" the day after Thanksgiving and gifting pajama bottoms to all of the men in the family every Christmas. A proud breast cancer survivor, Nell was a woman of strength, faith, and unwavering love for her family. She was a longtime member of Jumpertown Methodist Church, where she found comfort and community in her faith.A celebration of Nell’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Magnolia Funeral Home and led by Brother Trey Lambert.
