Funeral services for Minnie Nelson, 89, of Corinth are set for Monday, March 4, 2024 at 2pm at Tate Baptist Church with interment at a later date at Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024 from 11am until 2pm at Tate Baptist Church. Dr. Carl Weeden, Bro. Mickey Trammel and Bro. Daniel Jones will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Luke Mathis, Randy Mathis, Rickey Morphis, Ronnie Morphis, Tim Baggett and Richard Tenhet. Born March 14, 1934 in Alcorn County, MS., Minnie passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab in Corinth. She was a member of Tate Baptist Church and a retired assistant teacher at Biggersville with 23 years of service. She enjoyed working with children and loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Minnie is survived by her husband of 74 years, Bill Nelson; daughters, Lisa Weeden; honorary daughters, Barbara Tidwell (Steve), Sherry Tyson (Tim) and Carolyn James; grandchildren, Blake Weeden and wife Taylor and Gracie Weeden; great grandchild, Wyatt Rivers Weeden; sister, Onetter Morphis; sister-in-law, Olivia Mathis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Ottie Mathis; mother, Lucille Green Mathis; brothers, Arthur Mathis and wife Louise and Johnny Mathis; and her brother-in-law, Joe Morphis. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bread of Life Food Pantry at Tate Baptist Church or St. Jude Childrens Hosptial. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Minnie Nelson.
