A Celebration of Life for Mildred Starnes Hardin, 80 of Corinth, MS, will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Tuscumbia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2017 from 11:00 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mrs. Hardin passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her residence. She was born July 11, 1937 in Alcorn County to the late John Clifton Starnes and Willie Mae Lassiter Starnes. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Tuscumbia Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher, was president of the Women's Club for 2 years, sang in the choir, Sunday School Secretary, and Prayer Minister. She loved fixing hair, singing and piecing quilts. Mildred is survived by her son, Lewis Clinton Nelson of Chesapeake, VA; her daughters, Monica Ann Nelson of Sioux City, Iowa and Amy Fulk and husband Jim of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Neal Junior Starnes and wife Jane of Glen, MS, David Gaines Starnes and wife Grapel of Corinth, MS and Leroy Starnes of Dyersburg, TN; her sisters, Willie Pearl Kirk of Corinth, MS and Elizabeth Ann Summers of Dyersburg, TN; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Shane C. Nelson, her brother, John Wayne Starnes and her sister, Mary Mass. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mildred Starnes Hardin.
