Michael Leroy Shepherd

Michael Leroy Shepherd, 50, of Corinth, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, in Oakwood, Illinois. Mr. Shepherd was born in McMinnville, Oregon, on November 26, 1964. A veteran of the armed services, his profession as a truck driver enabled him to see more of the country he had spent so much of his life serving. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Life Tabernacle Church, and on Monday, June 29, 2015, from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, also at the church. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Jonathan McGaughy. Staff Sergeant Michael Shepherd will be interred in the Corinth National Cemetery. He is survived by his sons: Daniel Lee Ware and John Patrick Shepherd, both of Corinth; his daughter: Brittany Renea (Ware) Shepherd, also of Corinth; the mother of his children: Regina Camille Shepherd; his brothers: Timothy Shepherd, of Youngston, Ohio, and his fiancé: Cheryl, MM3 Johnathan Ray Shepherd, US Army, separated, of Gardena, California, Matthew Rura Shepherd, and John Joseph Holland; his sisters: BM2 Vivian Marie Shepherd US Navy, separated, of Brinnon, Washington, as well as Viola Fitzgerald, of Santa Margarita, California, and fiancé, John Tucker; his uncles: Dennis Hagans, Robert Walker Egnew, and Royal Carter; his nephews: SPC Brandon Jay Shepherd US Army and wife, Mandy, and Anthony D’Andrea; his Great-Nephews and Great-Nieces: Logan, Abbie, and Shelby; and his Mother- and Father-in-law: Randall and Mary Vaughn. SSGT Shepherd was preceded in death by his father: Donald Leroy Shepherd; his mother: Jacquelyn Olivia Egnew Shepherd; his uncles: Alan Cleveland Egnew, Doug Shepherd, David Carter US Army, ret., and Richard Shepherd.
