Mattie B. Vandiver Mincy passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at MS Care Center in Corinth, MS. Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial following at Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, January 23, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Magnolia Funeral Home. Minister Brad Dillingham and John Stevens will officiate the service. She was born in Alcorn County, MS, on March 28, 1936 to the late James Henry Vandiver and Ora Warhurst Vandiver. Mrs. Mattie B. was an active member of Strickland Church of Christ. She was married on June 17, 1957, to her husband of 59 year, James Wesley Mincy. She enjoyed going to church and loved playing with her grandchildren. Fishing was one of her favorite past times. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in several different hospitals and nursing facilities; and she also worked at ITT for a short period of time. She is survived by her husband, James Wesley Mincy; sons, Perry Mincy and wife Mary Kay of Corinth; Charles Mincy and wife Michelle of Jerseyville, IL; eight grandchildren: Ashley Mincy, Shelby Mincy, Charles Mincy, Samuel Mincy, Miranda Cox, Gregory Cox, Nate Cox, Brayden Cox, and other relataives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ora Vandiver; brother, John Gilbert Vandiver; sister, Thelma Eloise Vandiver Hardin; niece, Rebecca Cornelius; Sister-In-Law, Birdie Vandiver; and Brother-In-Law, Prentiss Hardin. Pallbearers will be Iver Vandiver, Gary Walden, David Hardin, T.N. Cornelius, John Cornelius and Josh Walden.
