Mary Helen Plunk, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Health Care. She was born on February 17, 1937 to the late Lester Green and Ruthie Burrow Green, graduated from Chalybeate High School and attended NEMCC. She was a former employee of Dean Truck Line for 20 years. Mary Helen was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she served as a pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star #27 in Corinth where she served as district deputy grand matron. Mary Helen was an avid Memphis Tigers fan, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 5-9 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 and from 10 am till service time Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. A celebration of Mary Helen’s life will be held at 11 am Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church officiated by Bro. Warren Jones, Bro. W.C. Alexander, and Bro. Larry Dollar. Pallbearers include Jimmy Tate Waldon, Clint Boals, Ray Burcham, Chris Davis, Justin Waldon, and Michael Stewart. Honorary pallbearers include R.L. Mathis, Dennis Jones, Randy Waldon, Glen Ozbirn, Louis Glover, and Larry Bright. Interment will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Mary Helen’s memory include her foster son: Tony Viola and wife Sharon of Corinth; her grandchildren: Grant Viola and Courtney Henderson (Justin); her great grandchildren: Gracey Viola, Rylan Henderson, and Carter Henderson; her step son: James Plunk; her step daughters: Doris Hamilton and Edith Martin all of Selmer, TN; her special cousin: Gale Jobe of Walnut; her special friend: Bobbye Hall of Walnut; a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and many friends especially those that she made at Mississippi Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Ruthie Green; her first husband of 38 years: J.V. Wilbanks; her second husband of 12 years: Robert Plunk; her stepsons: Max Plunk, Buford Plunk, and Neal Plunk; and her special cousin: Mable “Suzy” Burcham.
