Funeral services for Mary Ann Ledford, 88 of Belden, MS are set for Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST with interment in Dogwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 1pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service. Born January 29, 1937 in Baldwyn, MS., Mrs. Ledford passed from this life on Monday, January 20, 2025 in Tupelo, MS. She is of the Methodist faith. Mary was a retired nursing instructor at MS University for Women. She was one of the first Nurse Practitioners in Mississippi and she helped start the Nurse Practitioner program in Mississippi. Mary loved her family and she enjoyed painting, reading, cross stitching and sewing. She helped raise her younger siblings. Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Bray and Julia Steward (P. J.) and son, Robert Langston(Cindy) of Nevada; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Northup (Chuck), Jason Matlock, Miles Gingher (Macy), Paige Lancaster and Shelby Cooper; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, J. T. Hamm (Margaret) and Bobby Hamm; sisters, Dorothy Mayfield, Sue Williams and Lydia Tucker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clayton H. Ledford; daughters, Judy Dodson (Don) and Sheryl Ledford; father, James William "Coot" Hamm; mother, Evie Barnett Hamm; brother, Leonard Hamm (Lavada) and her son-in-law, Lester Bray.
