Marvin Thurston Little, 81, of Corinth, peacefully passed away on the evening of July 28, 2014, at landmark Nursing Home in Booneville. Funeral services for Mr. Little will be held at Noon on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, with Dr. Kara Blackard conducting the service with burial immediately following at Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
The Alcorn County native and long-time, well-respected businessman had a life-long love of people and politics. He spent many years in Washington, D.C. as the personal aide to Senator James O. Eastland. Little served as Colonel Aide De Camp to Governor George Wallace of Alabama, Governor Frank Clement of Tennessee, Governor Buford Ellington of Tennessee, Governor Cliff Finch of Mississippi, Governor William Winter of Mississippi, Governor Bill Waller of Mississippi, and Governor John Bell Williams of Mississippi. Little’s life passion was helping other people and developing and bringing industry to Corinth. He truly was “one-of-a-kind” and literally had friends all over the world. Often referred to by his friends as “Big T”, he had a fascinating career and life. His life is a true testament of the power of Jesus Christ as his Redeemer, Rewarder, Rebuilder, and now his eternal Restorer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.A. “Arch” Little and Velma Kilcrease Little; three brothers, James Little, Bobby Little, Billy Little, and an infant sister, Neva Doris Little.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Helen Louise Little; his four sons: Reggie Little and wife Ann of Corinth; Rodney Little and wife Paula of Corinth; Tony Little and wife Jennifer of Olive Branch; Trent Little and wife Haley of Corinth; and daughter Jill Little Ford and husband Mike Ford of Madison. Grandchildren: Grant Little, Hanna Cole, Jeni Bobo, Justin Little, Chad Little, Ethan Little, John David Little, Abby Little, Colton Little, Eli Little, Patton Ford and Crockett Ford. His 12 great grandchildren: Chase, Avery, Tate, Matthew, Regan, Brady, Brody, Lily, Grace, Ella, Counce, and Charli. Also survived by four brothers: Taft Little, Travis Little, Jerry Little and Harold Little, all of Corinth; and by his two sisters Glenda Moore and Peggy Wickersham, both of Corinth.
Pallbearers will be Little’s grandsons: Grant Little, Justin Little, Chad Little, Ethan Little, Patton Ford, Crockett Ford, Colton Little, John David Little, and Eli Little.
Magnolia Funeral Home in Corinth is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, 21 County Road 519, Corinth, MS 38834, from 5:00-8:00 on Wednesday, July 30th, funeral services at Noon, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.
