Marvin Hight

Marvin Hight, 90 of Corinth, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Tishomingo Manor. His family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life Service for both of their parents, Marvin and Shirley Hight at Church of the Crossroads, 2037 Highway 72 East this Sunday October 20. The family will receive guests from 3:00 to 4:45 with the Celebration Service beginning at 5 PM with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens.  Marvin was born June 18th 1934, to Harley and Pearl Hight. He was married to Shirley Hight and they were blessed with two children: Nelson and Melanie Ann. In his formidable career, Marvin worked in the insurance business before joining ITT where he retired in 1993. He completed his work career with Woodman of the World. Marvin was a man of integrity, reliable and conscientious. He was a loving and supportive husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was dedicated to his church and played an integral part in the construction of the current facility. Throughout his life he was often found helping behind the scenes with encouragement and humor. His faith lives on in the legacy he leaves through his children, grandchildren and even now, great-grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his son, Nelson Hight and wife Pam of Corinth; his daughter, Melanie Brown and husband Carroll of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren, Jared Hight (Cheri’), Aaron Hight (Jessica), Barbie Estes (Ethan), Jonathan Brown, Ann Elizabeth Brown, Caleb Dulaney-Brown (Tori), and Emily Brown; ten great grandchildren, Avery Hight, Eden Hight, Jude Hight, Ella Jane Hight, Luke Hight, Georgia Hight, Moses Hight, Ezra Estes, Zoe Estes, and Elsie Dulaney-Brown; brothers, Wayne Hight (Nancy), Jerry Hight (Melba), and sister, Suzette Pruitt (Chris), as well as, family, church family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Sitton Hight, his parents, Harley and Pearl Hight, his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Glenn Craine and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Jewel Hight and Gabriel Ray Hight. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Fellowship of Christian Athletes District 1, Oasis, or your favorite ministry. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Marvin Hight.
