Martha Elizabeth Rogers, 73, of Burnsville, MS passed away at Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka, MS, on Monday, May 14, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Rowland Mills Cemetery, Burnsville, MS. Bro. Sheldon Lambert will officiate the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. She was born in Florida on July 21, 1944 to Lewis Vanakin and Althea Roberts Vanakin. She worked as a nursing assistant before she retired and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Burnsville, MS. Survivors include her son, Ed Roberts (Carolyn) of Amory, MS; daughters, Rhea Epperson (Mike) and Rebecca Coln, all of Burnsville, MS.; grandchildren, Jay Stricklin (Dora), Brian Stricklin, Chris Tucker (Marlania), Jonathon Roberts (Brittany), Chris Estep, Chelsea Eichel (James), and Lora Burke; sister, Frances Rowell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rogers; father, Lewis Vanakin; mother, Althea Roberts Vanakin; brother, Boyd Hildbrand; and a sister, Barbara Estep. Pallbearers will be Chris Estep, Gage Stricklin, James Eichel, Jay Stricklin, Nathaniel Ligon, Chris Tucker, Jonathon Roberts, and Brian Stricklin. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Martha Rogers.
