Marion Joyce Wilcutt Boggs On September 17, 2012 our precious wife, mother and “manmother” went home to be with the Lord. Marion Wilcutt Boggs, age 77, was born on August 15, 1935 in Cordova, AL. She was an only child of the late Eugene and Allie Mae Miller Wilcutt. She grew up in the Patton Hill & Cordova Community and attended Benchfield Grammer School and Cordova High School where she was a drum majorette for four years. She lost her eyesight at the age of 29. She worked for the Daily Corinthian for 9 years. She enjoyed playing the organ, buckdancing and doing the jitterbug! She loved camping and traveling to the bluegrass festivals and spending time with special friends and wives of the Hatchie Bottom Boys. She was most happy surrounded by her family and her little dog “Penny”. She was a member of Pickwick United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sweetheart of 61 years, H.T. “Peck” Boggs and son Larry Boggs and wife Betty, 2 grandchildren, Beth Boggs and Lee Boggs all of Corinth, MS. a sister-in-law, Grace Boggs of Cherokee, AL; 3 cousins, Lanny Smith & wife Judy and Pat Lambert all of Corinth, MS; George Knauer & wife Judy of Alabaster, AL. Special friends: the Price Families, Polly Garrett, Lila Hall, Norine Cornelius and the wives of the Hatchie Bottom Boys bluegrass band. Funeral Services are set for 1:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 12:00 noon till service time. Burial will be in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Counce, TN. Rev. George Kyle & Rev. Shane Price will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Hatchie Bottom Boys: Bo English, Neal English, Gerald Kennedy, Joe Garrett, Michael Brose & Thelton Vanderford. Honorary Pallbearers will be the wives of the Hatchie Bottom Boys. Memorial Contributions may be made to the MS Blind Library Services, 3881 Eastwood Drive, Jackson, MS 39211-6473
