Marie Augusta Lamberth Phillips passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her residence at the age of 91. She was born November 3, 1919 to the late Clarence and Grace Lamberth. Marie was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by a multitude of friends and by her family who fondly remembered her as “Momma Ree”. Marie was born near Kossuth, she was a graduate of Alcorn Agricultural High School and lived her adult life in the Pleasant Hill Community near Kossuth. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church where she served as a youth leader and taught Sunday school for many years. She was survived by her husband of 71 years: Garvin Phillips – Kossuth, MS; Sons: Maxey Phillips & wife Sandra – Brandon, MS; McCoy Phillips & wife Diane – Kossuth, MS; Grandchildren(4): Mark Phillips & wife Lee – Dumfries, VA; Elizabeth Morgan & husband Tony – Brandon, MS; Shana Pitman & husband Steve – Long Beach, MS; Dawn Phillips – Kossuth, MS; 8 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Wayne Lamberth – Corinth, MS; Sisters: Ruby Harrison – Tupelo, MS; Katherine Miller – Kossuth, MS She was welcomed to heaven by her parents: Clarence & Julia Grace Walker Lamberth; Brothers: Edwin Lamberth & James Lamberth, Sister: Nadine Parker Pallbearers will be Tony Morgan, Steve Pitman, Wayne Honeycutt, Morris Crum, Gary Mitchell, Charles King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Lamberth, Leroy Miller, Bobby Caldwell. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Pleasnat Hill Methodist Church Building Fund care of: Serita Redding, 191 CR 522, Corinth, MS 38834.
