Marie Allen Inman

Marie Allen Inman, 64, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on September 14, 1952 to the late Mansel "Slim" Carter and Lela Ruth Carter. Marie was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, where she considered all of her friends her family, and was accordingly known as "Granny". Her fried chicken, biscuits and turnip greens filled many bellies and her love filled many more hearts. She made sure all of her babies knew how much she loved them. Happy hours of nothing in particular were spent with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was an angel lent to this world now gone home. Visitation is scheduled from 5-9 PM Saturday January 14, 2017 and from 1 PM until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Marie's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, officiated by Bro. Ray Bennett, Bro. Donnie Davis and Charlie Browning. Interment will follow in Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Paul Copeland, Blake Allen, Dustin Devers, Kevin Switcher, Steven Isbell, Hunter Switcher, Josh Bright, Casey Bearden, Hunter Kelly and Jeff Basden. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Joe Crum, Andy Allen and Zack Bright. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Marie's memory include her husband of 17 years: Kenneth Inman of Corinth; her son: Ricky Allen of Corinth, her step-sons: Clay Inman (Kathy) and Kenny Wayne Inman (Jackie) all of Corinth; her step-daughter: Polly Price of Corinth; her mother: Lela Ruth Carter of Oklahoma; her grandchildren: Scarlett Hall (Logan), Clayton Rope Inman, Will Bradley, Zach Franks, Hunter Kelly, Anna Kelly and Kailey Inman; her great-grandchildren: Landon Chase Windham and Lydia Marie Windham; her brothers: Billy Joe Carter (Linda) of Oklahoma and Ed Carter (Joyce) of Corinth; her sisters: Elizabeth Downs (Bo) of Burnsville, Loretta Herbert of Oklahoma and Wanda Carter of Jackson, TN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her first husband: Willie Charles Allen Sr,; her son: Willie Charles "Junebug" Allen Jr.; her infant son: W.C.
