A Celebration of Life service for Lonnie Cummings, 77 of Corinth, MS, will be Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow at Magnolia Gardens. Bro. James Voyles will officiate the service. Visitation will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, August 27, 2021 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Mr. Cummings passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 3, 1943 in Corinth, MS to Johnny B. Cummings and Mary Ethel Ashcraft Cummings. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Lonnie and his twin brother Onnie started a painting business that has grown into its 3rd generation so far. Lonnie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice Whittemore Cummings; his sons, Terry Cummings (Ronda) of Corinth, MS, Kevin Cummings (Leann) of Guntown, MS and Brandon Cummings (Adrien) of Glen, MS; his daughter, Sharon Cummings Taylor of Corinth, MS: his step-daughter, Sandra Verrell (Randy) of New Albany, MS; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; his brothers, Gene Cummings (Shirley) of Canton, TN, Henry Cummings (Debbie) of Maryville, TN and his twin brother, Onnie Cummings of Corinth, MS; his sister, Judy Bradley (Randy) of Corinth, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Dewayne “Cracker Jack” Cummings; his infant daughter, Mary Jewel Cummings; his grandson, Jerod Seth Taylor; his father, Johnny B. Cummings; his mother, Mary Ethel Ashcraft Cummings; his brothers, Alonzo Cummings, James Cummings and Johnny Edward Cummings and his sisters, Emma Jean Cornelius, Minnie Bradley, Ruby Wilbanks and Mary Sanders. Pallbearers will be Lex Jones, Jody Cummings, Ruben Cummings, John Allen Cummings, Austin Cummings and Joseph Cummings. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Cummings, Braxton Cummings, Jake Cummings and Jayden Cummings. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Lonnie Cummings.
