Logan Chase Williams

It is with deep sadness and much love that we celebrate the life of Logan Chase Williams of Kossuth, MS/Lafayette County who passed away on July 16, 2024 at 6:36 A M in Oxford MS at the age of 18 years old. Services will be Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 P M at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Bro. Corey Holley and Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5:00 P M to 9:00 P M and Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00 P M until service time at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Balin Bishop, Rylan Henry, Bryson Jackson, Jake Eaton, Hank Eaton, Swayze Rikard, Reid Settlemires, Hunter Hutchens, Reid Coward, T.J. Oakman and Jake Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Kossuth Aggie Baseball Team, Lafayette County Commodores Baseball Team, Tupelo 49ers American Legion Baseball Team and Kossuth Aggie Football Team. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Jason and Stephanie Williams, his sisters, Anna Kate Williams, and Harper Reese Williams; his grandparents Glen and Pasty Williams of Oxford, and Danny and Angie Russell of Corinth; his aunt Christy Gant/Jason Parker of Hernando, MS and the other two people of “the core 4” his 1st cousins Lauren Hailey Troxell and AJ Troxell; several great uncles, great aunts, cousins, an Aggie Community, a Commodore Community, and a host of Travel/Showcase Baseball friends and family since the age of 5. He was preceded in death by his Uncle Zac Gant of Corinth, MS. Logan was born September 15, 2005 in Germantown, TN. His first home was in Corinth, MS before moving to Saltillo, MS for a few years and then moved on to Oxford, MS. He attended Lafayette County School from Kindergarten up til his Sophomore year of High School. During his time at Lafayette he was a proud member of the Commodore Baseball Team. The summer before his junior year began, he moved back to Corinth, MS. He attended his last two years of High School at Kossuth High School and was a proud member of the Kossuth Aggie Baseball and Football Team and graduated as a member of the Class of 2024. His dream was always to play college baseball and he was on his way to begin that journey in August at Holmes Community College as a member of the Bulldog Baseball Team. His Dad instilled the love of the game in him at the age of 5 on a baseball field at what is now MTrade Park in Oxford, MS. Logan never met a stranger when he was on that diamond. Logan has friends and teammates from Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, Ohio, all because a boy picked up a bat and a ball and fell in love. Just as any sport, you learn the game, but from that game, he learned so much more. He was a when it mattered most type of guy, and that was not 2 outs bases loaded tie ballgame bottom of the 9th and he had the bat in his hand or one of his teammates with the same jersey or the opposing team, it’s what his heart felt for that person in that moment, and it was never for you to fail if the game was on the line and his team would have won, it was he wanted you to be happy and succeed because he was your friend/brother. That’s love, and he was without a doubt a lover and was loved by many. His heart was pure, his words might not have been sometimes, but his heart was pure. He loved his family hard, because he was loved hard. He was a leader, not take control of the game on the mound or behind the plate, he was a can I show you what I have learned, whether that was with a ball for the younger children who are growing up to have the same love he did, or that was his buddy struggling with something personal and him being that guy that you needed in that moment good or bad. He was an awesome big brother to his two younger sisters, one of which was more like a twin than 17 months apart in all the ways from leaving the bathroom a mess because it drove her crazy to riding together in a vehicle with the music as loud as they could stand it belting out the words to every single verse, to his 3 year old baby sister begging him to dance and the next second you hear “let it go” (Frozen) blaring upstairs and knocking and banging on the ceiling because he was going exactly what she ask. He was a son. He was a son that represented every single thing his family stands for in everything he did because of what we instilled in him every chance we got whether that be a bad argument playing with a toy that was hers, a play in a game to a bad friendship, or even a broken heart. Now Logan is the most handsome blue eyed Angel in Heaven - until we get to see him again! Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Logan Chase Williams.
