Linda Kate Winters, 79, of Corinth, MS, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Bedford on Saturday, March 28, 2020 surrounded by family at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Dallas, TX, on October 16, 1940 to the late Clifford and Lucille Dillon Dickey, and moved to Saint Louis, MO, shortly afterwards where she spent her early years. Linda graduated from Corinth High School in 1958 and married the love of her life on October 9, 1959. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Bedford loved to travel to the Smoky Mountains and visit with family. Whether she was chopping wood or digging a basement with Bedford, she gave 100 percent. If one of them had a project, the other made sure that it was accomplished. She also loved to cook homemade meals for the family and was well known for her strawberry and chocolate cakes. Not only did she smock and sew for her grandchildren, she loved to attend their various sporting events and extracurricular activities.
Linda was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and served as the Senior Pastor’s Administrative Assistant for thirty-eight years. With great diligence, she worked on the Building Committee for Relocation. She tirelessly attended to every detail and worked closely with the construction crew and on the Design Committee. As the Pastor’s Administrative Assistant, Linda also served as Office Manager, Wedding Coordinator, Staff Anniversary Coordinator, Church Calendar Coordinator, and Church Clerk. One of her greatest sources of enjoyment was the Banner Ministry. As an excellent seamstress and with a creative mind, she and Bro. Jim Pinkston founded the ministry. Linda designed and hand-stitched the majority of the banners that are displayed around the church and specifically during the annual Passion Play.
Linda was blessed with many friends whom she loved and who also loved her that would want to join us in celebrating her life. In light of the current virus situation, we are planning at a future date when we can all be together to share our cherished memories of her. Interment will be in Magnolia Gardens. The family would like to honorably mention Dr. Randy Bostick, Dr. Tommy Vinson, Bro. Dyer Harbor, Dr. Chris Aday, Bro. Jim Pinkston, Bro. Trey Wayne, Keith Reddell, Wayne Prince, and Dr. Ronald Meeks. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Those left to honor Linda’s memory include her children: Mark Winters and wife Cynthia, Bryan Winters and wife Karen, and Nancy Ross and husband Terry all of Corinth; her precious grandchildren: Allie Carroll (Bret), Rachel Delashmit (Jake), Morgan Crum (Jacob), Fu Meng, Alan Pratt (Abby), and Emily Ross, and a special great granddaughter soon to be; her brother-in-law: Bill Winters and wife Linda and a sister-in-law: Ora Winters all of Corinth; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bedford Winters and her brother Ben Dickey. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
