Linda Waldrop

Graveside services for Linda S. Waldrop, 73, of Corinth are set for Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 11am at Dogwood Cemetery with Bro. Warren Jones officiating the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST.  Born December 26, 1949 in Corinth, MS., Linda passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Tishomingo Community Living Center with her daughter, Christy by her side. Her son Casey and family had just visited and she had just called her granddaughter, Gracie. Linda was at peace and ready to go to her heavenly home. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Tate Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren, they were her proudest achievements. Linda was hired by Hall of MS, when it first opened its doors for her true southern but proper voice to answer their switchboard and her beautiful smile to greet those who entered the main entrance. Many have told her children how beautiful she was during that time, She was often referred to as "Wonder Woman" because she resembled her during those years. When someone would mention this to her, she would just shake her head and laugh because she didn't see herself that way. She was a very caring and selfless person but could be a "Pistol" too. You never had to wonder what she was thinking. Linda loved to read and would read several books a week until she couldn't. She loved the simple things in life, the White Trolley, drives to Pickwick and eating catfish while she was there, reminiscing about days gone by, westerns. game shows and anything that pertained to her children or grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Christy Hinton; son, Casey Waldrop (Cindy); grandchildren, Graham Hinton, Coley Waldrop, Gracie Hinton and fiancee Dakota Cornelius and Briley Waldrop; sisters-in-law, Pat Smith and Gail Smith; nephew, John Smith; nieces, Donna LaRiviere and Emily Arnold; a very special friend, Patty Howell; other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Lurlie Grimes Smith; brothers, Ravin Smith and J. D. Smith and the father of her children, Shelby Waldrop. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Linda S. Waldrop.
