A Celebration of Life Service for Lessie Foster, 99 of Corinth, MS, will be Monday, April 7, 2025 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Little Flock Cemetery in Burnsville, MS. Visitation will be Monday, April 7, 2025 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Bro. Jeff Haney will officiate the service. Mrs. Foster passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at MS Care Center. She was born November 23, 1925 in Leady, MS to Henry Walter DeFoor and Mary Jane Dickerson DeFoor. She was a homemaker and a member of Tate Baptist Church. She enjoyed birdwatching, reading her bible and traveling. She loved doing ceramics, spending time with her family and was a great cook. Lessie is survived by her two grandchildren, Brandon Gattis and Nicole Brown (Hunter); her great grandchild, River Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her her son, Larry Gattis; her 2nd husband, J.Y. Foster; her first husband and father of her children, Shelton Gattis; her parents, Henry Walker DeFoor and Mary Jane Dickerson Defoor; her brothers, Lee DeFoor, C.W. Defoor, Arnie Defoor, Earnest Defoor and Baby DeFoor; her sisters, Lona Barnes, Oma Shackelford, Tressie Whitfield, Nuel DePoyster, Jewel DePoyster, Sudie Adams and Pernie Skelton. Pallbearers will be Brandon Gattis, Hunter Brown, Keith Stevens, Eddie Whitfield, Barry Whitfield and Jerry Wilemon. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Lessie Foster.
