Leroy (Smokey) Johnsey, 93, of Centreville, MS passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Rienzi, MS on July 10, 1923. Mr. Johnsey was a long-time Meat Market Manager at Rogers Supermarket, a member of West Corinth Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II, serving the United States Navy as a First Class Seaman. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Corinth National Cemetery. Interment will follow in Corinth National Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Mr. Johnsey's memory include his sons: Dr. Dennis Johnsey of Centreville, MS and Rev. Phil Johnsey of Lebanon, TN; his grandchildren: Allison Byrd, Dr. Joseph Wayne Johnsey, Jr., Joannah DeMent, Nicole Burke, Brian Johnsey and Jennifer Britt; 18 great-grandchildren; his brother: Harry B. (Bud) Johnsey of Huntsville, AL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years: Joannah Archer Johnsey; his son: Joseph Wayne Johnsey, Sr.; his father: Harry B.
