Leon Williams, 87, of Corinth, MS went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Tishomingo County, MS on November 8, 1931 to the late Joseph Grady and Velma Louvenia Hardin Williams. Leon was a US Air Force Veteran with his primary duty being at Sembach Air Force Base in Germany. Following his military career, he attended Mississippi State University where he majored in electrical engineering. He then worked at Wurlitzer in Corinth as an engineer until he left to open his own business, Williams Electronics, at the corner of Cruise and Fillmore Streets in downtown Corinth. He then transitioned into commercial and residential property management under the Rubel Property title. Leon attended Crossroads Baptist Church and will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 30, 2019 from 1– 3 pm at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Leon’s life will be held at 3 pm Friday, August 30, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. Warren Jones and Dr. Leonard Pratt. David Price will deliver the eulogy. Pallbearers include Mike McClamrock, Gene Calvery, Steve Little, David Price, Roy Oaks and Thom Floyd. Interment with military honors will follow in Henry Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Leon’s memory include his wife of 8 years: Frances Williams; his daughters: Sherlyn Haley (Eddie) and Pamela Meeks (Mike); his stepdaughter: Anita Pratt (Dr. Leonard); his stepson: James Shaw (Cindy); his grandchildren: Justin Sumler (Cassie), Brandi Clark (Corey), Skylar Cannon (Amanda), John Henry and Josh Meeks; his step grandchildren: Brooks Pratt, Shelby Sparks (Tanner) and Brady Pratt; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his brother: Joseph Grady Williams Jr. (Gail); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 58 years: Sue Rhodes Williams; his daughter: Susan Ann Williams; his brother: John Marvin Williams (Maxine); his sisters: Maurine Williams Floyd (Milton) and Bettye Sue Williams Barnes (Carl).
